Main Task: Publishing House Case Study

The publishing house that i have reaearched about is Harris Publishing. Harris Publishing is an American consumer-magazine publisher in New York City. They have published over 75 titles, including Juicy, XXL, King, Dog News, 0-60, Guns & Weapons for Law Enforcement, Small Business Oppotunities, Men's Workout, Exercise & Health, Celbrity Hairstyles and many more. One major division, Harris Outdoor Magazines, publishes several titles on hunting, fishing, and firearms. Harris Comics published the former Warren Publishing character Vampirella for nearly two decades.

Harris Publishing, Inc is a full service publishing company which includes 15 different niche publications and five specialty events in those niche areas. Harris Publishing is well known and respected in these industries for its writing, photography and design. Harris Publishing began and quickly launched three magazines: Potato Grower, SnoWest and Sugar Producer. Other publications in boating, golf, trucks, lifestyle, snowmobiling, and industry publications were added through the years. In publishing these niche titles it was obvious there was a need for related events. Thus, Harris Publishing filled these needs in the boating, snowmobiling, and golf areas and started the National Houseboat Expo, On the Water Expo, Intermountain Snowmobile Show, Idaho Snowmobile Show, and the Mountain West Golf Expo.

The magazines target a range of audience. There are magazines for older adults, businessmen and men who are into health and fitness. There are also rnb and hip hop magazines which will relate to people from the ages 16-23. There is a magazine for wide range and it is based on a misxture of activites that can relate to everyone.
