Main Task: Unmanipulated Photos

I will be using this photo for my front cover because i can fit the masthead in at the top and my coverlines and it is a suitable picture for my magazine.

I will be using this picture for my double page spread because it is relavent to the genre that i am doing and it is a natural pose. The guitar fits in which maker her ook elegant but a slight rocker too.

I will not be using this picture because the picture was taken too far to the left and has cut out the end of the guitar and has left too much space to the right.

I will be using this picture for my contents page because it represents and shows another genre and it is also a natural pose with his hands and also has props that are usually used on a day to day basis like the headphones.

I also can't use this pictuire because the whole guitar is not showing and is cut out therefore it isn't a good picture to use.

Main Task: Publishing House Case Study

The publishing house that i have reaearched about is Harris Publishing. Harris Publishing is an American consumer-magazine publisher in New York City. They have published over 75 titles, including Juicy, XXL, King, Dog News, 0-60, Guns & Weapons for Law Enforcement, Small Business Oppotunities, Men's Workout, Exercise & Health, Celbrity Hairstyles and many more. One major division, Harris Outdoor Magazines, publishes several titles on hunting, fishing, and firearms. Harris Comics published the former Warren Publishing character Vampirella for nearly two decades.

Harris Publishing, Inc is a full service publishing company which includes 15 different niche publications and five specialty events in those niche areas. Harris Publishing is well known and respected in these industries for its writing, photography and design. Harris Publishing began and quickly launched three magazines: Potato Grower, SnoWest and Sugar Producer. Other publications in boating, golf, trucks, lifestyle, snowmobiling, and industry publications were added through the years. In publishing these niche titles it was obvious there was a need for related events. Thus, Harris Publishing filled these needs in the boating, snowmobiling, and golf areas and started the National Houseboat Expo, On the Water Expo, Intermountain Snowmobile Show, Idaho Snowmobile Show, and the Mountain West Golf Expo.

The magazines target a range of audience. There are magazines for older adults, businessmen and men who are into health and fitness. There are also rnb and hip hop magazines which will relate to people from the ages 16-23. There is a magazine for wide range and it is based on a misxture of activites that can relate to everyone.

Main Task: Profiling Your Audience

John is a 18 year old boy who loves music and it is a big part of his life. John doesn't stop listening to music and also study's music in college. This is his dream, for him to be a music artist and is very talented and can write/ produce music but he can also sing. John is never without his ipod and if he ever forgot his ipod he will run back a hundred miles jus to get it so that he doesn't have to stay without it. He is also starting up a band and is going to compose the music and also going to have the main part of the singing. John loves his life and wouldn't know what to do without music as it always helps him in every situation and makes him feel better even if he is down.

Main Task: Audience Research

The questions that i will be asking will be:
1) What genre of music do you listen to the most?
2) Is that the genre of music that you prefer the most?
3) What colour scheme would you prefer for a music magazine?
4) What do you look for in a music magazine that covers a mixture of genres?
5) What genre of music do you listen to the least?
6) What grabs your attention when your reading a music magazine
7) At what price would you buy a music magazine for?
8) What do you think about the cover of this music magazine?
9)For you, is there anything missing ?
10) What do you like about it?
11) Is it relevant to the genre of music that you listen to?

I have discovered that the genre that was the most popular was Rnb and Hip Hop. I will take this in to mind and include a lot more information and gossip to do with the Rnb and Hip Hop industry. I will also be basing the colour scheme with a muxture of red, white, black and purple. The least prefered genre was rock music which gave me an idea to include less rock elements and gossip. I now know that people who listen to music will like to know a wide range of information including the top ten, dates of the new singles and albums that are going to coming out. I have a better understanding of what a muci magazine needs and what type of information i need to include that will be interesting.
